About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Workforce Assistant to join our Ground Engineering team working on the Sizewell C project in Suffolk.
Be part of this ‘once in a generation’ project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low-carbon electricity.
The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O’Rourke.
We are more than just an alliance, we are bringing together a single delivery organisation with years of learning and experience from other major complex infrastructure programmes worldwide.
What you'll be doing
The successful candidate will:
- Maintain accurate training records, including certification expiry dates and renewal schedules;
- Monitor compliance with mandatory training (e.g., lifting operations, Piling operative, plant operation, etc.);
- Liaise with approved training providers to arrange courses and confirm on-boarding;
- Organise and book site inductions for new starters and visitors across GSA projects;
- Maintain induction records and ensure timely updates to site access systems;
- Support onboarding by ensuring new starters complete required induction and safety training;
- Manage the Learning & Development database and system used across the GSA alliance;
- Generate compliance reports for site managers, project leads, and alliance stakeholders;
- Respond to training and induction-related queries from site teams and HR departments;
- Collaborate with HSE and operational teams to align training and induction processes with project risk profiles and regulatory requirements;
- Support audits and inspections by maintaining accessible and accurate documentation;
- Support the Workforce Manager in staffing and coordinating labour and resource allocation across sites;
- Assist in tracking workforce availability, mobilisations, and demobilisations to meet project schedules;
- Help maintain labour resource plans and communicate updates to site teams and project leads.
Who we're looking for
The following qualities/experience are essential:
- Experience in a training or HR administration role within construction or infrastructure;
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail;
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and training/induction management systems;
- Understanding of construction training frameworks and compliance requirements;
- Familiarity with GDPR and data protection best practices.
The following qualities/ experience are desirable:
- Experience working within a multi-company alliance or joint venture;
- Familiarity with piling-specific training and induction needs;
- Knowledge of CSCS, CPCS, NPORS, and other construction certification schemes;
- Qualification in Business Administration, HR, or Learning & Development.
