Summary
The work of the Women’s Estate Psychology Service (WEPS) spans core forensic work: completion of complex risk assessments along with therapeutic intervention work, consultancy, training & research, as well as a broad range of safety-related work within women’s prisons, and as women transition back into the community.
There are two posts available at the current time. One post holder will have the opportunity to engage in a range of work with a key focus on the Early Days Service (TEDS) which provides enhanced support for women in their early days in custody. This will include the collaborative development of strengths-based plans based on psychological formulations and using these in a multiagency/multi-disciplinary way to support women in custody and through into the community more effectively. The post holder will also support the delivery of Compassion Focused Therapy based HOPE groups for women new to custody. The second post will undertake a range of activities commensurate with the job description and will also focus on supporting the delivery of staff training to operational staff within the prison, as well as potentially at other women’s prison sites.
