Summary
HR Administrator
College of Biomedical and Life Sciences
The College of Biomedical and Life Sciences are looking to appoint two HR Administrators to work as part of a team to deliver and contribute to the provision of a customer-focused, professional Human Resources service.
As an HR Administrator you will provide day-to-day generalist advice and support across the full employee life cycle to employees and managers within the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences.
The successful candidate will work very closely with the Schools’ HR Advisors and be responsible for the provision of administrative support for day-to-day HR activities (recruitment, selection, contract renewals/changes, absences, annual leave and more). You will independently provide valuable HR support to a range of employees and should have well developed communication skills to facilitate this.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be comfortable working independently, pro-actively generating and managing your own workload, and be able to work professionally with colleagues at all levels. If you have strong administrative and communication skills and are seeking to build a career in the HR profession, we would be keen to hear from you.
This role will provide the opportunity to build your understanding of various aspects of specialist HR work, as well as being involved in work and projects across the College.
Cardiff University offers many excellent benefits, including 40 days annual leave (incl bank holidays), local pension scheme, a cycle to work scheme and other travel initiatives, annual increments within the pay scale, and more. It is an exciting and vibrant place to work, with many different challenges and is a proud Living Wage supporter.
The majority of roles at Cardiff University are currently operating under “blended working” arrangements, with staff having the flexibility to work partly from home and partly from the University campus depending on specific business requirements. Discussions around these arrangements can take place after the successful candidate has been appointed.
For informal enquiries please contact Sam George, HR Adviser – GeorgeS20@cardiff.ac.uk.
This post is full - time (35 hour per week), available immediately for an 18-month period to cover secondment and based at Heath Park Campus (blended working).
In supporting our employees to achieve a balance between their work and their personal lives, we will also consider proposals for flexible working or job share arrangements.
This is a fixed term appointment that may be administered as a secondment arrangement with prior line management agreement.
Salary: £28,031 - £31,236 per annum (Grade 4)
Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at bottom of scale unless in exceptional circumstances.

Cardiff University is committed to supporting and promoting equality and diversity and to creating an inclusive working environment. We believe this can be achieved through attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse range of staff from many different backgrounds. We therefore welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of sex, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, trans identity, relationship status, religion or belief, caring responsibilities, or age.
Applications may be submitted in Welsh, and an application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.
