Pinewood School is a school which provides children and young people who have additional learning needs an opportunity to access high quality learning and teaching. The curriculum is designed and adapted to meet the diverse needs of individual learners. The school is based in the village of Blackburn and has strong community links. The school has both a primary and a secondary department.


During the session 2025/2026 the school roll will comprise of 160 pupils, Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher, 3 Principal Teachers, 24 members of the teaching staff and a team of 74 pupil support workers.


We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the team of support staff in the school to support young people with the learning, development and personal care needs.


This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
