Across West Lothian Council Additional Special Needs Schools; Pinewood School, Blackburn; Burnhouse School, Whitburn; Cedarbank, Livingston; and Beatlie School Campus, Livingston. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable individuals to join our Advanced Pupil Support Worker supply list to provide cover across West Lothian schools throughout the academic year.


Under the direction of the designated teacher, you will work with and be trained to support school pupils by undertaking a range of activities relating to the general supervision, safety, care and well being of pupils.


Alongside the Teacher and other experienced PSWA’s you will be supporting and building positive relationships with children and young people. The young person will look to form a bond with you to help them succeed despite their severe and complex needs and typically severe learning difficulties.


This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account


This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
