The Emergency Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Clinical Fellow within the Emergency Department.
This post is a 12-month fixed term contract, with possible extension, to support individuals in their training and specialism within ED with an expectation your competencies with particular relation to an Emergency Medicine training path will be achieved and demonstrated within this fixed term period. This will be set with you at the beginning of your term with us.
The post-holder will be a part of the Registrar rota and attend their departmental teaching programme sessions.
The candidate will be allocated an Educational Supervisor for their time within the department.
The candidate will be expected to engage in continuing professional development, teaching, audit, and other departmental opportunities for teaching or quality improvement.
Applicants must have full GMC registration with a licence to practice and shall have completed a minimum of 4 years of postgraduate training or equivalent experience, including at least 2 years’ experience in the Emergency Department.
NHS experience is essential.
• Maintain professional responsibility for patients coming to the ED by provision of safe, timely, high-quality care to patients
• Keep patients (and/or their carers if appropriate) informed about their condition and involve them in any decision-making about their treatment
• Undertake different roles within the department as required
• Be responsible for the keeping of records and the provision of reports, the proper delegation of tasks when required and maintaining skills and knowledge.
• Provide clinical leadership and supervision of junior medical staff
• Participate in teaching programs within the department
• Maintain professional standards and comply in particular with the GMC’s guidance on ‘Good Medical Practice’ as amended or substituted from time to time
