Summary
Are you passionate about helping children find their voice? We're working with a fantastic special educational needs (SEN) school in Sandwell that is looking for a Communication & Interaction Champion to join their team. This is a unique role for someone who loves making a difference and has a creative approach to supporting pupils with speech, language, and social communication needs.
About the Role:
As a Communication & Interaction Champion, you'll:
- Support pupils with speech and language difficulties, autism, and social interaction challenges.
- Deliver interactive communication sessions using tools like PECS, Makaton, and assistive technology.
- Work closely with speech and language therapists and classroom staff to create engaging strategies.
- Use creative methods such as role play, drama, and sensory activities to build confidence and communication skills.
- Track progress and celebrate every milestone with pupils and families.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in SEN settings, speech and language support, or a background in communication-focused roles.
- Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or willingness to learn.
- A positive, patient, and enthusiastic approach to helping children thrive.
