“Expectations are high for every pupil and sixth-form student, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Pupils are becoming motivated and resilient learners who show pride in their achievements. Importantly, pupils say that they now enjoy their learning.” (Ofsted, 2025)

We are seeking a pragmatic, proactive and supportive Attendance and Behaviour Champion who has experience in supporting students’ emerging attendance and behaviour needs. This exciting new role is an opportunity to be an incredible advocate of young people and demonstrate a passion for actively working with students to support their incredible outcomes. Your passion for supporting established routines for attendance and behaviour is demonstrated in your daily work and you are willing to contribute to wider opportunities for students to further engage and support them in their success at school.

We welcome visits from potential candidates at any time.

The Academy is looking for someone who has:

• Ambition for all students to be successful by effectively working as part of a pastoral team to remove barriers to learning;
• Resilience to adapt and support in a range of circumstances so that all students achieve;
• Ambition for your own development and learning;
• Excellent knowledge of attendance and behaviour interventions;
• The ability to understand and work with data to monitor and intervene as appropriate with students and identify impact in your work.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Complying with policies and procedures relating to attendance and behaviour, reporting concerns to an appropriate person and sharing information with relevant staff as appropriate.
• Overseeing the monitoring of student cases for attendance and behaviour to ensure improvement and provide support in students’ success.
• Being an active presence in school to support teaching staff in ensuring students demonstrate our values and attitudes consistently and positively.
• Conducting home visits to support high attendance of students, including driving the minibus for collections when required.

Interviews will be held the week commencing 12th Janurary 2026.
