Summary

Role Overview – Learning Support Assistant Newport

As a Welsh-speaking LSA, you’ll:

Support pupils during lessons, helping them stay focused and engaged


Assist with understanding classroom tasks, both 1:1 and in small groups


Encourage confidence and participation in KS3 and KS4 students


Be a calm, positive presence in the classroom — no lesson planning or teaching required


Your role will help pupils thrive academically and socially, making a real difference to their school experience.

Requirements – Welsh-Speaking LSA Newport

Fluent Welsh speaker (essential for this Welsh-medium school)


Experience supporting pupils in a school or similar setting


Patient, kind, and enthusiastic about helping young people learn


Comfortable working with KS3 and KS4 pupils


Able to work well within a friendly, busy school team
