Role: Occupational Therapist

Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire - East Midlands

Job Type: Locum contract until 31/03/2026 with a view to extend

Shifts: Monday - Friday. Full time preferred but will accept part time hours.

About the Role:

HCRG Staffing are looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist (OT) to work in Loughborough, Leicestershire (inpatient role). Could also could consider band 5 if you have recent experience of clinical inpatient work. To be based in a community hospital inpatient service in the NHS.

Our client is looking for an Occupational Therapist with experience with complex discharges and physical health. It's a stepdown ward so patients will be on the last part of their journey before being discharged. The role will be based in an inpatient unit so must be willing to work in this environment (car driver not needed). Need inpatient physical experience, discharge planning. Functional Assessment (ax) - transfer ax, personal ax, domestic activities of daily living ax, hoisting ax.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, maintaining responsibility for own caseload without direct supervision
  • To manage clinical risk within own patient caseload and environment
  • The post holder is expected to bend, crouch and kneel to undertake activities in confined and restricted spaces e.g. next to patients beds, in patients homes with limited space.
  • To comply with the Trusts Manual Handling Policy and local therapeutic handling guidance at all times.
  • Carrying equipment to patients on a daily basis and the ability to manoeuvre it in confined spaces or lifting it in and out of the car

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Education: Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Licenses: HCPC registered
  • Experience: 2 years experience minimum
  • Skills: oral and written communication skills; prioritisation and planning; time management
