Summary
Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lecturer in Adult Functional Skills English (0.6 FTE) to join our team on a fixed-term basis until the end of the academic year initially, with a start in the New Year. This is an exciting opportunity to empower adult learners by developing their core English skills, while contributing to a dynamic and supportive academic community.
This role involves delivering high-quality English provision within the community across Blackpool, Fylde, and Wyre, supporting learners from Entry Level through to Level 2. You will play a key part in helping adults build the essential skills needed for employment, further education, and increased confidence in daily life.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
As a Lecturer in Functional Skills English for Adults, your main duties will involve:
Delivering high-quality, inclusive learning, teaching, and assessment in Functional Skills English.
Assisting with curriculum design, development, and quality improvement to enhance the learner experience.
Supporting student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression through targeted guidance and developmental support.
Effectively using digital and face-to-face tools (e.g., VLE, progress tracking software, internal verification processes) to enable learner success.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge in both subject content and effective teaching pedagogies.
Contributing to the wider B&FC academic community through scholarship, research, and professional practice.
