Summary

Cheltenham Borough Council is looking for a motivated and people-focused Resident Engagement Officer to join our Housing Services Community Team. This part-time role (22.2 hours per week) is a great opportunity to help shape a modern and flexible approach to tenant and leaseholder engagement.

Working closely with our Community Investment Manager, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality engagement that meets the standards set by the Regulator of Social Housing.

You’ll plan and deliver a customer-focused engagement service, manage our tenant and leaseholder panels, organise and chair meetings, and recruit and train new members.

You will help embed a culture of strong tenant voice across Housing Services by coaching colleagues on best practice. The role also involves ensuring compliance with the Social Housing Consumer Standards.

You’ll widen opportunities for residents to get involved in policy and scrutiny work, support complaints processes, and help shape budgets. You’ll also follow up on resident recommendations to ensure accountability.

In addition, you’ll deliver engagement events, produce updates such as newsletters and annual reports, and keep our website current — all while ensuring compliance with legislation, GDPR, and safeguarding responsibilities.

If you’re passionate about involving residents and making a positive impact on local communities, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note that this job advert may close early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.
