Join Mitie, a leader in facilities management and infrastructure support, and play a vital role in UK Defence operations. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced QHSE Coordinator to join our team in Ascension Island delivering essential services in support of UK Armed Forces operations.
The roleReporting to the QSHE manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all QSHE activities on the airbase including external audits , training and competency records, monthly KPI reporting and managing information storage in line with data protection procedures. Over and above the administrative elements, there will be more proactive opportunities where you will be able to improve the department efficiency, join QSHE inspections and tours, deliver training and help roll out new processes. The right person will also have the opportunity to progress and train as a Health and Safety Advisor sponsored by the company and experience the complexities of maintaining a military air base. No two days are the same, Monday you could be undertaking an assurance check on some first aid equipment, then Tuesday helping to investigate an accident before going airside to undertake noise monitoring around an aircraft.
Main Duties
-Manage the audit schedule and ensure that audit actions are completed in a timely manner, providing practical support as required.
-Keeping accurate records of QSHE information including meeting minutes, training and investigation reports in line with Data Protection requirements.
-Support the collecting of information required for submission either internally or as part of external agency reporting and accreditations such as ROSPA and ISO standards
-Maintain QSHE notice boards with up-to-date information including a suitable dashboard.
What You'll BringA dynamic individual capable of developing effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels, The desire to learn and take on new challenges will be strong. You will have an eye for detail, and a practical approach. As well as an ability to work unsupervised and take the initiative with the right support.. With an eye eye for detail, and given the right support .
Essential
-Good standard of education (Level 2 in English and Maths), Fluent in written and spoken English.
-Computer literate with good knowledge of Office 365 platforms including; MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint
-Full UK driving license
Desirable, but not essential
-Experience in a similar role (not essential as training can be provided)
-Knowledge of UK Health and Safety Legislation and assurance processes
-First Aid at Work/Mental Health First aider
-PTTLLS or equivalent and training experience
-Experience in using the following Microsoft applications; Sway, Power BI, Powerapp, Booking
