Job Title: Personal Care Assistant
Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer (Mum)
Hours: Term Time: 4 hours per week after school or weekend to be negotiated
School Holidays: 8 hours per week split across 2 days
Hourly Rate of Pay: £13.00
Based at: Employer’s own home in Gazeley, Suffolk and out in the local community.
Job Purpose
We are looking for a kind, enthusiastic and experienced Personal Assistant to support a lively and engaging 6-year-old boy with Autism. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and has experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing 1:1 support tailored to the child’s needs and interests
• Full support with personal care and toileting.
• Engaging in fun, active play in the home and at outings
• Supporting communication and social interaction
• Promoting independence and confidence in a safe and nurturing environment
Essential Requirements:
• Experience working with children with Autism and/or learning disabilities
• A genuine passion for supporting children
• Patience, creativity, and a good sense of humour
• Ability to work flexibly and reliably
Desirable:
• Relevant qualifications in childcare, education, or health and social care
• A driving licence and access to a vehicle
