Summary
A credible senior leader with managerial responsibility for both nursing and allied health professionals ensuring services are responsive to patient needs. Working as a visible lead within the group management structure, demonstrating and developing collaborative working within and across the MDT. The Modern Matron has a pivotal role in creating the best experiences and opportunities for our staff to become local, national, and international leaders in healthcare with the patient at the centre of everything we do. The Modern Matrons role is to empower others to strive for continuous evidenced based improvements and to motivate staff to always deliver the highest quality care to all who access our services to promote World Class Care at UHCW NHS Trust. The key focus is on quality improvements in safety, effectiveness, and patient experience in addition to corporate responsibilities, supporting other colleagues and on-call or hospital bleep rota duties The matron will also be responsible for delivering the goals as espoused within the Matrons Charter (2019) taking a proactive as well as reactive stance on cleaning standards and infection control. Matrons have an individual and collective responsibility to develop digital and data capabilities for patient benefits.
