This is an exciting time to work for Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and High Peak Borough Council (The Alliance) as we are committed to improving parks and green spaces and increase opportunities around physical activity for the benefit of residents.

Set in the context of new emerging strategies, the successful candidate will support the delivery of the Council’s Move More and Parks/Green Spaces Strategies, through an approach of positive community engagement and support, effective team and partnership working and local collaboration.

We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate who can support the development and delivery of projects identified within both Council’s key strategies and other related strategic documents. Demonstrating knowledge and practical experience of engaging with local communities in order to support and encourage people to move more and engage positively with our parks and green spaces.

Building effective relationships and partnerships the postholder will help to identify and support key members of the community to act as leaders and motivators in encouraging people to increase movement and engage in parks/green space related initiatives.

The successful candidate will also be required to represent The Alliance at meetings with internal and external stakeholders i.e. service users, other Council services, clients, consultants, contractors and other working groups therefore strong advocacy, interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role.

This position will primarily focus on the Staffordshire Moorlands area; however, the successful candidate will also play an important role in supporting work across both Staffordshire Moorlands and High Peak as part of The Alliance.
