At The Myton Hospices, we provide specialist care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, and their loved ones, from the point of diagnosis to end of life. We are a much-loved and well supported charity, at the heart of our community. We have three hospices, a range of community services, and 26 charity shops in Coventry and Warwickshire.
The Specialist Physiotherapist will work with people with a range of life limiting conditions which may include: – cancer, cardiac or respiratory conditions or long-term neurological conditions. They will work within the Inpatient Unit and also deliver both individual and group sessions within a range of Wellbeing programmes such as the Fatigue and Breathlessness Programme and Exercise group to people attending the Myton Hospices.
As a Specialist Physiotherapist at Myton, a typical day might include:
- Working as an autonomous therapist with responsibility for the effective delivery of specialist physiotherapy services
- Organising and delivery of group exercises
- Ordering/monitoring equipment for patients, and carrying out safety checks on equipment
- Attending/contributing to IPU handover and MDT meetings
- Contributing to care planning and raise awareness of the physiotherapy role
We are seeking a Specialist Physiotherapist with:
- Evidence of a Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
- 2 Years post qualification experience
- Community or hospice experience
- Experience of palliative care, or long-term conditions
- Clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of complex conditions
- Working within a multidisciplinary team
- The right to work in the UK (we cannot provide sponsorship)
This role will require an enhanced DBS check including the adult’s barred list because you will be providing adult health care.
As this role requires travel, you must be able to travel within Coventry and Warwickshire (travel expenses are covered).
