Summary
Our client, a well-regarded educational institution in Bristol, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-time SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
As a Full-time SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Work closely with the teaching staff to provide individualised support to students with SEN and SEMH needs
- Assist in the development and implementation of personalised learning plans
- Facilitate small group activities and one-to-one interventions to promote academic, social, and emotional development
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including educational psychologists and speech and language therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to student support
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field (e.g. , Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent)
- Proven experience working with students with SEN and SEMH needs
- Knowledge of effective strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with young people
- Proficiency in using educational technology and resources
