Clinical: To provide outpatient and inpatient specialist gastroenterology and/or hepatology service including a ward commitment. To participate in an emergency out of hours upper GI bleed endoscopy service. To participate in the general medical rota Administrative: To participate in audit and clinical governance activity related to gastroenterology in line with local and national guidance and requirements. To participate constructively in departmental meetings. To participate in continuing professional development, annual appraisal and risk management Research: The post holder will be encouraged to participate in research activity and develop quality improvement and service development projects where practicable Teaching: The post holder will be involved in undergraduate & postgraduate teaching, including PACES teaching. To provide clinical and educational supervision for Resident doctors There will be the opportunity to act as clinical tutors and academic mentors for medical students Potential opportunity to develop and supervise advanced care practitioners specialising in gastroenterology and hepatology.
