Summary
A Senior Technician is required to undertake research as part of a BBSRC-funded grant: “Defining a new realm of proteolysis activated protein function”. The successful applicant will use genetical, biochemical and physiological approaches in combination with Mass Spectrometry to understand the biochemistry of the N-degron pathways in plants and physiological roles. The post holder will work alongside a Research Associate/Fellow as part of the project. This exciting project is a collaboration between biologists and chemists, it builds directly on our previous work identifying and characterising the molecular mechanisms of N-degron pathways in plants (eg. Till et al Plant Direct 2019, Vicente et al New Phytologist 2019, Abbas et al Nature 2022).Applicants must have:
Minimum of HNC in relevant subject OR equivalent qualifications plus considerable work experience in relevant role OR substantial work experience in relevant role.
Applications from those with laboratory skills in plant genetics, physiology and general biochemistry, including Western blot analysis are particularly encouraged to apply.
This fixed-term, part-time post is available from 07 Jan 2026 until 31 Aug 2026.
If you have any informal inquiries, please contact Michael Holdsworth: michael.holdsworth@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this e-mail will not be considered.
