Summary

SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Reception Pupil (Non-Verbal)
Location: Bristol
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs?

We are seeking a caring and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a Reception-aged child who is non-verbal and requires full-time support, five days a week. This role is physically demanding and requires someone patient, adaptable, and committed to making a positive impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support for a child with complex needs
  • Assist with communication strategies and engagement activities
  • Support with personal care and physical needs as required
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment



Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in SEN support, ideally with non-verbal pupils
  • Background in support work or care work highly desirable
  • Understanding of ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and challenging behaviours
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
