Join Our Team as a Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant 30 hours per week | 39 weeks per year (term time + 1 week)We have a mixture of permanent contracts and maternity cover contracts. Do you have the resilience, creativity, and commitment to help every learner thrive?We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistants to join our growing team at Ellesmere College—a large, aspirational special school in the heart of Leicester. About the Role You will work closely with students aged 4–19 who have a range of moderate to complex learning difficulties, including communication and interaction needs and complex autism. Your role will involve: Supporting students’ learning and development in the classroom and beyond Adapting your approach to meet individual needs Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals Helping students achieve their best possible outcomes What We’re Looking For Excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible, team-oriented mindset Educated to GCSE level in Math's and English or equivalent (this must be evidenced)A commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing A desire to learn and grow in a supportive environment Experience with special needs is highly desirable, as is knowledge of: Makaton PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) Sensory-based approaches (Training can be provided for the right candidates.)
