Summary
Provide technical assistance to the Information Department to help ensure that the data warehouse and its processes fully support Contracting/SLA reporting requirements including Payment by Results (PbR) and SUS data submissions. To respond to queries regarding data integrity within the departments Data Warehouse and other systems. Investigating, raising and resolving issues with the Information Service Managers. To improve and streamline existing processes and systems to promote greater efficiency and effectiveness in the production and use of information and offer performance and productivity advice. Working closely with Line Manager, manage the development of new information databases, information processing systems, and deployment working closely with other Information and ITSS Services staff in Warwickshire. To help develop the use of web based reporting tools, including designing, maintaining and developing reports, for different audiences, assisting colleagues in the use of these tools. Also responsible for guidance to report writers. To lead with support of Line Manager on the implementation of reporting tools and data warehousing to support the development of key performance indicators with drill through facilities using Microsoft SQL server reporting services , Analysis Services, Integration Services and other third party BI Tools. To work with the line manager to manage upgrades to data warehouses and reporting tools to ensure the department keeps up with the latest technologies and SQL server upgrades and other software upgrades. To be able to decipher the work done by others. To maintain a good understanding of available new technologies/techniques and be able to apply as appropriate. Assisting Information staff with database analysis and data interpretation, including problem solving using SQL programming, use of advanced functions and highly complex methodology. Develop and improve information reporting systems to meet the requirements of managers within the Trust including availability, Data quality etc. To support the Trust in the development and implementation of new information systems. Investigate technical issues in areas of expertise related to software or databases, and identify solutions and options for resolution. Ensure that all developed systems are documented to the appropriate level, and that documentation is maintained and up to date Through close liaison with the IT Technical Services Manager, ensure that application servers such as Web Servers and Database Servers are appropriately managed and maintained. Create, develop and sustain good working relationships with external stakeholders. To ensure that the Data Protection Act recommendations relating to the provision of information are followed at all times. Ensure all processes have written currently procedures and that they are followed and maintained at all times. With other senior staff within information, take a shared responsibility for all aspects of data quality and information. Act as a Deputy to Data Warehouse Manager. Maintain a network of contacts and build professional relationships with suppliers and other NHS Trusts. Communications and Working Relationships: Internal: Information Department staff, ITSS, Clinicians, and Operational Managers. Staff at all levels and grades of the organization External: External suppliers, Other NHS Organisations
