Summary

To input data onto the Therapy Audit system and ensure it is continually updated and validated. To answer and record incoming calls to the Rheumatology helpline, providing guidance to patients on their blood monitoring frequency and responding to any correspondence generated by TA monitor system, liaising with Clinical Specialists where necessary. To do a daily blood variance report on Therapy Audit database and ensure scans and trends are printed and delivered to the Consultant Rheumatology on a daily basis. To audit patients for non-attendance of blood monitoring on a daily basis and send letters to General Practitioners and their patients who have failed to attend within the expected frequency as per Disease Modifying Anti Rheumatic Drug (DMARD) guidelines. Ensure that accuracy of information is maintained and liaise with General Practitioners to investigate anomalies. As instructed by Clinical Nurse Specialists. To maintain the user list for Therapy Audit and ensure it is up to date. To ensure appropriate training and gain consent from consultants etc prior to use of the Therapy Audit Database. To ensure that all information is updated from the most recent clinic letters and that change to drug therapy are entered onto the database. To use the patient administration systems, clinical letters and ICE Pathology facility to query patient details. Scan returned variance reports onto shared folder on a weekly basis. Initiate and Co-ordinate ongoing Community Phlebotomy dates as and when required. To print reports from the Therapy Audit database as and when required. To liaise with the Information Technology Department and computer software company on any technical problems relating to the database and to update staff within the team as required. Be willing to attend regular updates/workshops that may be provided by the database software company and feedback information to the multidisciplinary team. To manually enter blood results received from outside hospital Trusts and to contact the Pathology Departments when results are delayed. To assist with provision of information for ad hoc departmental audits as required. To maintain and develop good communication links with the Consultant Rheumatologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Medical Secretaries, the Rheumatology Day Unit staff, General Practitioners, Pathology Department, ward staff and patients. To ensure that all Trust standards are maintained and monitored to improve the quality of care to all who come into contact with services provided by South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust. To comply with Health and Safety legislation, promoting high standards and acting immediately on hazards or unsafe practices in conjunction with other staff. To participate in appraisals and personal reviews and work to achieve agreed set objectives. To participate in appropriate training and development activities. To undertake any other duties as required in accordance with the grade and nature of the post. To participate in team, professional and personal development activities and promote commitment to continuous development and improvement. To provide training and setting up of new members of Therapy Audit staff.
