Looking for a role where no two days are the same, where you're trusted, supported, and part of a team that keeps people safe? Mitie is offering an exciting opportunity for Relief Security Officers to join our Manchester team.
You'll be contracted for a minimum of 8 hours per week, with a competitive hourly rate of £12.21 (pay award pending) — and plenty of additional shifts available. As part of our relief team, flexibility is key: you'll be available Monday to Sunday, working both days and nights, supporting a variety of sites across the city. You'll report directly to the Security Shift Manager.
We are especially keen to hear from officers who drive and have an interest in alarm response or driving-based duties — full training provided.

What You'll Be DoingAs a Security Officer, you'll be the welcoming face and first point of contact for customers, clients, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include:
-Maintaining strong situational and geographical awareness of the site and surroundings
-Conducting regular external patrols in all weather conditions
-Identifying and responding to suspicious behaviour or potential security threats
-Taking control of incidents until emergency services arrive
-Reporting all incidents clearly and promptly to the Security Shift Manager
Who We're Looking ForWe're seeking individuals who bring both professionalism and personality to the role. You should be:
-Determined, trustworthy, attentive, and approachable
-A true team player with a positive, enthusiastic attitude
-Confident working on your own initiative
-An excellent communicator (written and verbal)
-Calm, composed, and reliable under pressure
-Flexible and able to adapt to changing business needs
Retail security experience is a bonus — but not essential.
You'll also have a good understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Criminal and Civil Law, and the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
Essential Qualities & Experience

Required / Desirable:
-Previous security experience
-SIA Licence - Door Supervisor preferred (CCTV licence ideal)
-Full UK driving licence (desirable)
-SC Clearance (desirable)
