As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will have the unique opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers, providing invaluable support to students with diverse learning needs. Your role will be instrumental in creating an inclusive and nurturing environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement individualised learning plans tailored to each student's specific needs
- Providing one-on-one support and guidance to students, enabling them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential
- Assisting in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials to ensure accessibility and engagement for all students
- Facilitating small group activities and discussions to promote social interaction and communication skills
- Monitoring and documenting student progress, maintaining accurate records, and communicating regularly with teachers and parents
- Participating in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest strategies and best practices in SEN education
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable
- Relevant qualifications in education, special needs, or a related field (e.g. , NVQ, CACHE, or equivalent)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the diverse needs of students
- Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic educational environment
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in using educational technology and assistive devices
