An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and supportive team at a well-regarded school in Tamworth, Staffordshire. Our client is committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities, working closely with the teaching staff to ensure that each student receives the individualised attention and support they require. Your expertise and commitment will contribute to the academic, social, and emotional development of these exceptional young learners.

Key responsibilities:
- Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs and goals
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND, both within and outside the classroom setting
- Adapting learning materials and resources to ensure accessibility and engagement for all students
- Monitoring and recording student progress, maintaining accurate records, and communicating regularly with teachers and parents
- Assisting with the implementation of behaviour management strategies and promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Supporting students with personal care needs, such as mobility, hygiene, and feeding, as required
- Participating in relevant training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in SEND education

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as education, childcare, or special needs support
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND in an educational setting
- A strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEND and a commitment to promoting inclusion and equality
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Flexibility, patience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- A valid DBS check and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

The salary for this full-time position ranges from £105 to £115 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.
