Summary

Our client, a well-established educational institution in Redbridge, Greater London, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) to join their team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring they receive the necessary support and resources to thrive in their educational journey.

As a SENDCo, you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating and overseeing the provision of support for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across the school
- Developing and implementing personalised learning plans and strategies to support the individual needs of SEND students
- Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to supporting SEND students
- Monitoring and evaluating the progress of SEND students, and adjusting support plans as necessary
- Providing guidance and training to staff on effective strategies for supporting SEND students in the classroom
- Liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and collaboration in supporting SEND students
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to SEND provision, in compliance with statutory requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant post-graduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
- Proven experience working as a SENDCo or in a similar role supporting SEND students
- In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external professionals
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in SEND provision
