Summary

Portfolio Planning Analyst
£45,000 to £50,000 plus great benefits (Work level 6A)
Remote home-based role with travel to sites across the UK and occasional travel to our head office in Manchester.

We're looking for a Portfolio Planning Analyst to join our Property team and help shape the future of our Co-op Funeralcare estate. In this new role, you'll turn property strategies into clear investment and divestment plans. Supported by data, you'll use your judgement to assess options and identify solutions to overcome complex challenges, making decisions that shape our short and medium-term property plans and having a tangible impact on our Funeralcare business.

Why this role matters

At Co-op, we understand how important it is to provide the right environment for families during one of the most difficult times in their lives. This role plays a vital part in making sure our Funeralcare estate is located in the right locations, and that they are welcoming, respectful, and equipped to offer the best possible experience for our clients and colleagues. Every decision you make will help us create spaces that support dignity, care, and compassion when it matters most.

What you'll do

* Support with translating branch-by-branch strategies into deliverable investment and divestment plans.
* Assess options and identify solutions for complex properties that align with our aspirational strategy.
* Support the delivery of our care centre property strategy.
* Work with the Head of Portfolio Planning and teams across Property to create future investment programmes (e.g., PAR, UPAR, refits, branch refresh, closures).
* Make sure asset renewal and lease renewal activity aligns with our property strategy.
* Build relationships and influence local Operations Managers, communicating changes clearly.
* Review and generate insights from investments, sharing findings with key partners.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who has:

* Experience assessing options and making strategic recommendations. You might have a background in property, funeralcare, finance or another field that required you to problem solve and work with partners to agree the best commercial recommendations.
* Ability to distil complicated scenarios into simple conclusions via strong written and verbal communication.
* Confidence in engaging and influencing stakeholders.
* A strategic thinker and commercially aware.
* Ability to make decisions under pressure, showing tenacity and resilience when handling complex priorities.

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we're owned by our members. And because we're owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you're not just taking a job, you're joining a movement. We're an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we're powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you'll also receive:
* An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
* 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
* A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
* Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
* Coaching and training to support your career development
* Wagestream app - giving you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn
Building a diverse environment
We're actively building diverse teams and we welcome applications from everyone. If you have a disability, we can make reasonable adjustments to our recruitment process according to your needs. We're also part of the Disability Confident scheme, meaning we'll always offer an interview to disabled candidates who apply through the scheme if they meet the minimum criteria for a job.
We'll ask whether you'd like to be considered under the Disability Confident scheme when you apply.
If we invite you to take part in the recruitment process for any of our jobs, we'll ask you if you need any reasonable adjustments to enable you to participate.
