Summary

English National Ballet are seeking a Building Services Operative to join our lively Building Operations team in an entry-level role.

You’ll work in our home, the Mulryan Centre for Dance on London City Island, to deliver a variety of services, from maintenance and repairs to setting up events, in order to maintain the building to a professional standard. You will also have the chance to complete formal training courses in a range of areas, and be able to shape your role to develop additional skills in plumbing, carpentry, and engineering.

This role is a chance to gain excellent experience and formal qualifications across building services and maintenance as part of an enthusiastic, hardworking team.

Your main responsibilities as Building Services Operative will include:
Undertake an initial period of guided, practical learning to develop a good understanding of the range of work in Facilities Services and Building Maintenance
Develop a good understanding of best practice for Health and Safety and undertake all related training as required
Support the Building Services Senior Technician with basic fabric and maintenance tasks to ensure building services are maintained and in good working order
Provide room set-up & breakdown of furniture supporting the efficient running of workshops, events and rehearsals
Develop positive working relationships with all team members, including on site contractors and team management

Key Selection Criteria
Aptitude for building maintenance and fabric repair tasks and willingness to learn a range of practical skills to a high standard
Interest and aptitude to work in a Facilities support role in a modern office with event hire spaces
Ability to understand and adhere to relevant Health and Safety practices and documentation, including Risk Assessments for all assigned activities
Strong workload organization skills and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
Ability to build positive working relationships with team colleagues and support other team members
