Summary

The post holder will support with operational management within the allocated service portfolio within the Medical Business Unit. This will involve working with the operational triumvirates working alongside Service Line Manager, Matrons and Clinical Leads to ensure the provision of safe, high quality clinical services. The post holder will carry out a range of tasks including transformation and service improvement work, capacity and demand modelling, problem solving, scheduling, budgetary and staff management, and providing support to the relevant Service Line Managers, Matrons and Clinical Leads. Key aims of this position are to maintain and improve quality and safety in the delivery of effective patient care whilst rigorously pursuing the efficient use of available resources. The role will support the delivery of key performance indicators including cancer targets, RTT compliance and the Emergency Care Standard (depending on job role). There will also be oversight and delivery of responses to complaints, incident management and the management of risks. The role will also be key in supporting the Trust's elective care recovery programme and urgent & emergency care improvement programme (depending on role). Represent the Business Unit in daily site meetings, coordinating any actions required within the business unit to support effective patient flow across the site. The role will be fast paced and although operationally focused there will be opportunity to contribute to working on strategic plans and priorities working with Trust corporate services and key partners.
