Maintenance Engineer - Coventry
Salary: £47,000 including shift allowance
Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week
Shifts: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am (rotating)
Holidays: 25 days + Bank Holidays
We're looking for a reliable Maintenance Engineer to join us, supporting a range of cutting and production machinery. This role involves both planned and reactive maintenance work, and specialised training will be provided. Candidates with an electrical-mechanical background and good computer skills will be well suited to this position.
The RoleYou will maintain and support machinery, ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and consistently. Your work will help minimise downtime, improve machine performance, and keep production running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities-
Carry out reactive repairs on machinery and auxiliary equipment in accordance with safety and industry standards.

Complete PPM tasks following procedures and best-practice guidelines.

Ensure all repair work meets required standards; escalate outstanding issues when needed.

Log abnormal conditions so maintenance schedules can be updated and improved.

Identify practical improvements to reduce breakdowns and enhance equipment reliability.

Adjust machine settings to address quality concerns and support consistent output.

Maintain process integrity by working within set operating parameters.

Keep digital records, maintenance systems, and handover notes accurate and up to date.

Deliver thorough handovers between shifts, including logging spare parts used.

Conduct production handovers after maintenance work.

Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment, disposing of waste correctly.

Work within engineering project teams to support upgrades, capital equipment changes and continuous improvement activities.

Follow all health & safety procedures related to machinery, guarding, and control systems.

Perform additional tasks as required to support the engineering team.
Skills & Experience
-
Time-served engineer, ideally with an electrical bias or multiskilled.

Ability to read and understand technical information and machine documentation.

Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to improving plant performance.
