To contribute to the provision of a specialist mental health pharmacy service within the Central and West Lancashire Inpatient units of Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. The role will provide clinical pharmacy input into the Scarisbrick and Chorley Adult Mental Health Inpatient wards. As a purely clinical service there is currently no pharmacy-based dispensary commitment, bank holiday or weekend working.
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic specialist clinical pharmacist to join the pharmacy team based in the mental health units in Ormskirk and Chorley. The role also includes providing clinical pharmacy input in to the mental health inpatient units in Chorley and Preston, along with Pharmacy colleagues based in those units. The successful applicant will work alongside members of the multi-disciplinary team to support prescribing and offer specialist clinical pharmacy advice. You will also have close links to the wider Pharmacy department across LSCFT.
The main duties of the post holder will be to provide a patient-focussed clinical pharmacy service to service users in the inpatient setting. You will be expected to provide a high level of pharmaceutical care to patients as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team, participate in consultant ward reviews, undertake clinical audit and be actively involved in the education and training of trainee pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other healthcare professionals. The role also involves providing support to other members of the Pharmacy team through clinical supervision.
