Summary
We are seeking an experienced Toolroom Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong practical machining skills and experience working across a wide range of traditional toolroom equipment. This role involves producing and maintaining tooling, jigs, fixtures, and supporting ongoing maintenance requirements. Key Responsibilities
Manufacture, repair, and maintain tooling, jigs, and fixtures to high precision standards.
Operate a range of conventional machines, including:
XYZ and Harrison lathes
Bridgeport milling machines
Surface grinders
Bench fitting equipment
Operate and programme EDM machinery, including:
Agie EDM machines
Roboform 20 Charmilles
Interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Support ongoing tooling and maintenance requirements within the workshop.
Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure tooling availability and performance.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a toolroom machinist or precision engineer.
Strong competency in conventional machining (turning, milling, grinding, bench work).
Experience using Agie and Roboform 20 Charmilles EDM machines.
Understanding of SolidWorks, CAD/CAM systems, and Fanuc controls.
Ability to work from engineering drawings to tight tolerances.
Good problem-solving skills and a proactive, quality-focused approach.
