Summary
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist with experience operating a vertical milling machine on behalf of our Client. This is a volume-productivity role suited to someone who can maintain accuracy while working efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a vertical milling machine for production machining tasks.
Produce components to specified dimensions and tolerances.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, measurements, and dimensional requirements.
Work efficiently to achieve production output and quality targets.
Handle parts safely—most can be lifted manually, with an overhead crane available for heavier components.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment.
Perform routine checks on machinery and report issues promptly.
Required Experience & Skills
Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or Milling Machinist.
Solid understanding of milling operations, feeds/speeds, and tool selection.
Ability to read dimensional drawings and work to tight tolerances.
Confident with manual handling and safe use of lifting equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and meet productivity targets.
Desirable
Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with other manual machines or workshop equipment.
