We are recruiting dedicated and proactive Sports Mentors for a highly respected alternative education provider in Eastleigh. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting vulnerable and disengaged young people through a structured, sport-led approach.
This provision offers a calm, consistent environment designed to help young people aged 9-16 rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and develop essential life skills. Through positive role-modelling and carefully planned activities, you will play a vital part in helping students move forward socially, emotionally, and academically.
- Providing 1:1 mentoring built on trust, consistency, and professional boundaries
- Delivering low-pressure physical activities that promote wellbeing
- Supporting students in developing independence, daily routines, and emotional regulation
- Planning and delivering sessions including walking, team sports, fishing, or gym-based activities
- Completing daily reports and communicating effectively with colleagues and leaders
- Supporting morning check-ins and end-of-day reflection
- Maintaining a safe, supportive environment aligned with safeguarding standards
- Highly supportive leadership with a commitment to staff development
- Comprehensive training programme including behaviour management, Team Teach, and safeguarding
- A structured, carefully designed approach that prioritises wellbeing
- A chance to make measurable, meaningful impact
- A stable full-time role with a clear route into permanent employment

You do not need formal qualifications, but you should bring:
- Experience or interest in sport, youth support, coaching, or behaviour mentoring
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm and solution-focused
- Emotional intelligence and resilience
- A positive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively
- Reliability, professional boundaries, and a commitment to safeguarding
- A genuine desire to support young people who need stability and encouragement
