Hays are delighted to be partnering with a dynamic and expanding organisation based in North Wolverhampton. They are seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable professional to join their dynamic team. Your new role
You will be part of the Accounts Payable team, taking ownership of your section of the ledger. The role focusses on resolving queries, driving process improvements, and implementing new procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Key Responsibilities:

  • Adopt and implement best practices to maximise automation while ensuring compliance with financial regulations
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting across all accounts payable activities
  • Manage and resolve a high volume of queries, liaising with buyers to clarify processes, remove blockers, and drive improvements.
  • Perform supplier statement reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Input financial and non-financial data with precision, meeting agreed deadlines
  • Collaborate with the wider business to reduce aged debt and improve on-time payments
  • Take ownership of continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency through automation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective, consistent, and compliant service delivery
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach, working independently to complete tasks, raising concerns appropriately, and taking accountability for successful outcomes.
  • Support colleagues with ongoing challenges, stepping into a leadership role when required to maintain high service standards
  • Act as a driver of change, actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the team and across the wider Directorate


What you'll need to succeed

Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, enabling you to resolve queries efficiently and build effective working relationships across the business.You will demonstrate the ability to work independently, taking initiative to improve processes and drive positive change.
