The Opportunity
Our Tier 1 civil engineering client is looking for an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality assurance and compliance across all civil engineering works. This is a unique opportunity to influence standards on a nationally significant project, ensuring excellence in delivery and adherence to stringent regulatory requirements.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
- Develop and implement project-specific quality plans and procedures in line with client and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards, ONR regulations, and civil engineering specifications.
- Lead quality audits, inspections, and surveillance activities across all work packages.
- Manage non-conformance reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Provide quality leadership and training to site teams and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with design, construction, and commercial teams to embed quality throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate quality records and support handover documentation.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Quality Management.
- Proven experience in quality management on major infrastructure projects (nuclear or regulated sectors preferred).
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and UK construction quality standards.
- Experience with quality auditing and compliance in high-risk environments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.
It’s great if you also have the following
- Experience with NEC contracts and quality requirements.
- Familiarity with digital quality management systems and BIM integration.
- Background in reinforced concrete structures and heavy civil works.
