Our Tier 1 civil engineering client is delivering a £2.9 billion nuclear construction programme, supporting the safe decommissioning and future operations of a nationally significant site. Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Lead and manage day-to-day construction activities on-site, ensuring delivery against programme, budget, and quality targets.
- Embed nuclear safety culture and ensure compliance with client standards and ONR regulations.
- Manage site teams and subcontractors, fostering collaboration and high performance.
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all works meet specifications and nuclear quality documentation requirements.
- Champion health, safety, and environmental compliance under CDM and nuclear site licence conditions.
- Liaise with client representatives, regulators, and internal teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Provide accurate progress reports and forecasts to senior management.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Proven experience delivering major infrastructure projects in regulated environments (nuclear preferred).
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and UK nuclear safety regulations.
- CSCS, SMSTS, and relevant nuclear safety training (e.g., Nuclear Safety Passport).
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.
It’s great if you also have the following:
- Experience in reinforced concrete structures and heavy civil works.
- Previous involvement in nuclear or high-hazard projects.
- Familiarity with digital construction tools and BIM.
