I am recruiting on behalf of a welcoming secondary school in Watford, Hertfordshire, for a permanent Teacher of Geography. With start dates available in January 2026, April 2026 or September 2026, this role provides genuine flexibility for the right candidate. The school encourages applications from ECTs and experienced Geography teachers alike.
The Geography department is part of a cohesive Humanities faculty and benefits from a clear, ambitious curriculum that covers both physical and human geography. As Teacher of Geography, you will deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, with possible KS5 teaching for suitable candidates. There is a strong emphasis on fieldwork, enquiry-based learning and helping pupils to understand the connections between local, national and global issues.
The school is looking for someone who can motivate pupils of all abilities, maintain high expectations and contribute positively to the wider school community. ECTs will be well supported through a comprehensive induction programme and regular mentoring. For more experienced colleagues, there may be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities within Geography or Humanities, and TLRs may be available for the right person who can support leadership of curriculum, assessment or enrichment.
