Summary

Social Worker – Children with Disabilities (Permanent)

Hours: 36 hrs/week | Full-Time
Start Date: 02 February 2026
Office Requirement: 3 days/week on-site

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join a Children with Disabilities Team rated OUTSTANDING. You will support disabled children and their families from referral through long-term planning, conducting high-quality assessments, delivering interventions, and working collaboratively with multi-agency partners.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct holistic assessments of children and families

Develop and review individualized care plans

Chair multi-agency meetings to monitor progress

Deliver practical, therapeutic, and engagement interventions

Collaborate with education, health, and community partners

Support development projects and initiatives

Mentor students and newly qualified staff

Act as link social worker for specialist schools

Plan smooth transitions to adult services

Maintain accurate records and reports



Key Requirements & Skills

Diploma or Bachelor’s in Social Work, CQSW, or CSS (Essential)

Completed ASYE (Essential)

Experience with children with disabilities (Preferred)

Strong assessment, communication, and multi-agency working skills

Safeguarding knowledge and child welfare commitment

Ability to mentor and support students/newly qualified staff
