Summary
The Forensic Brain Injury Service is delighted to offer a Senior Clinical Psychologist post, on a part-time basis (0.74 WTE, 27.75hours).
The post is based in the inpatient psychology service at Guild Lodge Regional Secure Unit, which includes medium and low secure, men's, women's services as well as the nationally recognised Forensic Brain Injury Service.
This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join the experienced multidisciplinary team in the Forensic Brain Injury Service.
The post holder will contribute to the provision of a high quality, specialist clinical psychology service, to service users with complex forensic, neuropsychological, and high-risk needs, across medium and low secure settings.
Candidates wishing to develop their skills and knowledge in the areas of neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation, psychosis, personality difficulties, and developmental trauma will find the setting to be of particular interest.
The post holder will be expected to assess and formulate service user risks and needs and provide a range of group and individual interventions where necessary. An interest in developing skills in neurobehavioural and cognitive rehabilitation, and relational and integrative approaches such as Schema Therapy may be an advantage, as training and supervision may be provided in both frameworks.
The post holder will contribute to the development of the psychological knowledge and skills of the wider multi-disciplinary workforce through consultation, joint working, training and supervision of other professionals.
You will also be involved in developing the national profile of the service through contributing to service development, evaluation, and research where possible.
As part of the wider Psychological Services Team, the post holder will have opportunities to develop expertise in all aspects of forensic/clinical practice.
For further information or an informal discussion about the post please contact: Dr Andrew Leigh, Clinical Neuropsychologist, on 01772 647137 or Andrew.leigh@lscft.nhs.uk
