To provide support for a 10-year-old male child who has Autism and ADHD which impact on his learning, communication and behaviour.
Main Duties We are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker to enable this child to access age-appropriate leisure activities in the local community. He can experience difficulties following instructions, especially when it may be something he may not want to engage with; this can then affect how he regulates his emotions and behaviours. This role would suit a Support Worker who has experience of working with children and young people with Autism and associated complex behaviours. Ideally applicants will be patient and sensitive and dedicated to working towards building a good relationship with him and ultimately achieving positive behavioural outcomes. Some of his favourite activities include swimming, trampolining and metal detecting.
Hours The hours are 6 hours per week during all school holiday weeks (13 weeks); however, you may on occasion be asked to work fewer one week to enable slightly more the following week to enable specific activities. Hours will be fully discussed and explained at interview.
Rate of pay £13.74 per hour. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata. Out of pocket expenses will be met by the employer.
