The City of London’s Housing Service manages 12 estates, totalling 5500 homes. Three of these estates are in the Square Mile (including the iconic Barbican Estate) and a further 9 estates are in neighbouring London boroughs.
Our tenants and leaseholders are at the heart of everything we do, supporting us as we strive to effectively manage, maintain, and improve the property that is their home.
The Major Works Team (HRA) is primarily responsible for the delivery of an ambitious capital programme of planned maintenance refurbishment to the Corporation’s social housing stock over the next 10 years. Works will include roof and window replacement, communal decorations, mechanical and electrical upgrades, fire safety, internal decent homes, and potentially some decarbonisation elements.
We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Project Manager, keen to work as part of a structured team, with a hunger for self-development within social housing.
The successful candidate will have some experience of project and contract management, together with some construction knowledge. You will also have strong communication skills and some experience in dealing with a range of customers and stakeholders.
Aside from your developing professional skills, being customer focused and having the right attitude, drive and enthusiasm are also key ingredients for this role.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as part of the selection process the successful applicant will be required to obtain a standard Disclosure & Barring Service check.
Closing date: 12 noon on 1 December 2025
