Summary

Third in Charge (Level 3 Qualified) | Up to £35,000 | BRAND NEW NURSERY

Here’s your chance to step into a leadership role where your experience, confidence, and passion for early years will help shape a brand-new nursery from day one. As Third in Charge, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the management team while leading by example within your room.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong Room Leader or existing Third in Charge who’s ready to grow their career and make a real impact in a nurturing, forward-thinking environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent).
  • Experience as a Room Leader or Third in Charge in a nursery setting.
  • Confident understanding of safeguarding, the EYFS, child development, and best practice.
  • Ability to support staff, model excellent childcare, and uphold high standards.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, collaborative approach.
  • Someone who thrives in a hands-on role within a lively, supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the leadership team as part of the senior structure within the nursery.
  • Lead your room with confidence, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.
  • Oversee planning, observations, and assessments in line with the EYFS.
  • Guide and mentor staff, providing support, training, and encouragement.
  • Build strong relationships with children and families, promoting trust and communication.
  • Help ensure the smooth running of daily operations across the setting when required.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health & safety, and inclusive practice.
