Overview
We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner with a strong background in both transport and warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning efficient routes, coordinating fleet activity, and supporting smooth warehouse-to-transport workflow. This is a rotating shift role, so flexibility to work both days and nights is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Transport Planning & Coordination

Plan, schedule and optimise daily routes to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries

Assign loads to drivers in line with legal requirements, fleet capability and customer needs

Monitor fleet progress using tracking systems and respond to delays or issues

Ensure compliance with driver hours, WTD, and all relevant transport legislation
Operational & Warehouse Integration

Work closely with warehouse teams to manage load planning, dispatch accuracy and turnaround times

Coordinate vehicle loading, departure, and arrival schedules

Communicate clearly with warehouse supervisors to maintain workflow efficiency
Communication & Administration

Provide clear instructions to drivers and ensure all job details are communicated accurately

Maintain accurate records, delivery notes, manifests, and system updates

Liaise with customers regarding delivery times, delays, or queries
-
Escalate issues and provide operational updates to management
Skills & Experience Required
-
Previous experience as a Transport Planner or similar transport coordination role

Strong understanding of warehouse operations and the transport–warehouse interface
-
Knowledge of driver hours, legal compliance, and WTD
-
Experience working with route planning tools or TMS systems

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Ability to work under pressure and adapt to operational changes

Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset

Flexible and willing to work rotating day and night shifts
