About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional care and support to individuals in their own homes. As a Home Care Assistant, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals who need support to maintain their dignity and independence. Your role will be vital in ensuring they feel valued and secure, while providing essential care in the comfort of their own home.
You will assist with daily tasks, personal care, medication administration, and ensuring that our clients feel safe and supported. The ideal candidate will be kind, patient, and able to work independently while following care plans to meet the individual needs of each person.
Key Responsibilities:
•Provide personal care and support to people in their own homes in line with an agreed care and support plan.
•Assist with mobility, moving, and handling tasks.
•Administer medication as prescribed and according to care plans.
•Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, promoting well-being and mental health.
•Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client’s condition to senior staff.
•Follow health and safety protocols, including infection control procedures, to ensure a safe environment.
•Report any concerns about clients’ health or well-being promptly to senior staff, ensuring timely interventions.
Skills and Experience:
•Previous experience in a care or support role is preferred, but not essential.
•A caring, empathetic, and patient approach to working with vulnerable adults.
•Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
•A positive attitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality care in a respectful and compassionate manner.
•A valid driving license and access to a car.
•Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and evenings, depending on client needs.
•A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and satisfactory references will be required.
•NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (desirable but not essential).
