Crynodeb
The construction of a range of removable appliances for clinical staff, postgraduate students and undergraduate students. To be familiar with CAD/CAM technology and its current role within dental technology. To be able to demonstrate specific skills i.e. high levels of dexterity and coordination using CAD/ CAM technology . To be able to scan and design removable appliances for periods of intense prolonged concentration using VDU equipment daily, whereby there may be a requirement for sitting in a restricted position for a substantial portion of time. Prioritise their own workload including planning for appliances and formulating adjustments where necessary. This will involve ensuring all appointment dates are met and the keeping of up-to-date records of all work allocated using correct laboratory protocols. All work to be produced in line with Medical Devices Regulations. Ability to communicate with staff and students regarding the design and prescription of conventional crown and bridge restorations. This will also mean spending time on consultant, postgraduate clinics unsupervised and may involve communicating with patients regarding shade taking with occasional exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances. Assist with the routine day to day running of the laboratory and assist clinical and nursing staff with collection of completed work. Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of own work areas plus have responsibility for specific items of laboratory equipment and report defects in need of remedy to the Lead Technician
