Role: Arranging Care Officer (SO1) – Admin & Clerical
We are seeking an Arranging Care Officer to broker packages of care and placements for clients requiring emergency, temporary, or long-term support. You will ensure services are cost-effective, appropriate, and aligned with client outcomes, while maintaining strong relationships with providers, social care teams, and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
Source cost-effective services to meet individual care recommendations.

Use purchasing frameworks and costing tools to negotiate placements.

Ensure service agreements and contractual documentation are in place.

Maintain accurate records on case management, finance, and placement systems.

Provide advice and support to service users, carers, and families.

Work collaboratively with social work and healthcare leads to ensure seamless processes.

Identify and advise on factors affecting placement arrangements (e.g., safeguarding, quality standards, funding).

Support implementation of personal health/social care budgets and outcome-based commissioning.

Produce reports on activity, performance, and provider outcomes.

Check and code invoices, ensuring accuracy in finance and activity monitoring.

Escalate safeguarding concerns in line with policy.

Candidate Requirements
Experience working in health and social care environments.

Strong record keeping, administration, and IT skills.

Excellent negotiation, influencing, and communication skills.

Knowledge of funding, contracting, and purchasing arrangements for care services.

Understanding of the needs of adults with complex care requirements.

Ability to manage workload effectively in a busy environment.

Commitment to improving outcomes for service users.

Enhanced DBS required.
