Summary


We are looking for an experienced senior manager to lead and manager the countywide Perinatal Mental Heath Service, across Bedfordshire & Luton. You will have extensive practice, knowledge and experience within Community Mental Health Secondary Care Settings,

The post holder will have a successful track record of managing large community multi disciplinary mental health teams, working in collaboration with other primary and secondary health providers.

You will be accomplished in all aspects of Operational Management including HR, service delivery, performance, finance and setting standards of good practice.



You will lead the operational management of the Countywide Perinatal Mental Health Team in Bedfordshire & Luton, whilst working pro-actively with the Team to ensure safe and effective implementation of service developments relevant to the team. You will be responsible for the safe and effective management all operations in the team.

You will be required to work closely with the Assistant Director to develop the service in line with commissioner requirements and Trust objectives, consulting all key stakeholders, and positively reinforcing the expectations of the organisation through collaborative and dynamic management and leadership that is both supportive and encouraging in nature to enable the team to adapt to key changes smoothly

Strong leadership and ability to work collaboratively with partner organisations will be required in addition to having a good understanding of developing and maintaining healthy teams

Key Responsibilities:



You will have lead responsibility for continually improving the quality and performance of the service. The list below is not exhaustive but reflects the main duties of the post:


• To lead the service, in collaboration with the Deputy Team Manager, Assistant Director, Consultant Psychiatrist, and Lead Clinicians to promote a culture based on principles of recovery, choice and personalised care.
• To provide leadership for a large multi-disciplinary team, including psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, nursery nurses, STR workers and social workers.
• To directly manage the Deputy Team Managers
• To ensure the service operates in line with agreed pathways, national and Trust policies and guidelines, and is focussed on the delivery of key performance and clinical outcomes
• To co-ordinate the management of the teams, ensuring effective training, ongoing professional development and professional supervision is maintained for all staff and to ensure that the physical and mental health, safety and wellbeing of staff in the service is maximised, enabling them to make a positive contribution to their work and home lives
• Leading and making contributions to quality improvement projects in a clinical setting
• Working collaboratively across systems with key stakeholders
• Management of staff including recruiting, supervising and performance managing staff within own and/or other disciplines
• Management of resources, efficiency savings and financial recovery plans
• To work closely with our well-established People Participation Group (Expert by Experience) and have a strong ethos of co-production
• To participate in the Trust on Call Manager Rota
